The first full-length version of Irish writer James Joyce’s groundbreaking novel was published on this day in 1922 after censors had removed the supposed obscenities and blasphemies. A modern version of Homer’s “Odyssey”, Joyce used a range of styles and innovative language to portray the stream of thoughts and ideas of protagonists Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus on one given day, 16th June 1904.
